Sponsor a King's Kid

The institutionalized cycle of poverty in Mexico can be seen throughout the centuries, and too often, it creates toxic environments where abuse, hunger, or addiction can fester. With Church Mexico’s King’s Kids ministry, we work to interrupt this cycle early: supporting and empowering children in and around San Luis in their education, while leading them to know Jesus!

A Future Unhindered

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder

them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

-Matthew 19:4

A major challenge for the children we meet in Mexico is that most of their parents were pulled out of high school or even elementary school to try and make ends meet for their own families growing up. So when the children we work with come back from school with homework or projects, their parents don’t have the tools or support structure to help their child succeed.

Despite how much these parents may want to help their children, the lack of equipment and preparation makes it nearly impossible, which results in academic struggles for the child - bad grades, discouragement, slow learning pace, and more. With these challenges, some parents may eventually pull their children from school and repeat the generational cycle of working to live, instead of living to glorify God and enjoy His Grace.

Make a Difference Today

Our greatest need to continue advancing this program is financial support and accountability through Child Sponsorships for their public school education. The school system in MX requires that parents pay for tuition, supplies, and sometimes even bill payments for electricity at the school.

Most of these parents are barely making ends meet at home, and when it comes to choosing food on the table or tuition or pencils, food is the priority. So we’re asking for your support to sponsor these children so the parents don’t pull them out due to financial stress!

Join us in this mission to transform lives and bring hope to children in need. Sponsor a child through Church Mexico's Kingdom Kids Ministry today and making a difference, one child at a time, one day at a time.

An Ever-Growing Ministry

Our first church plant, La Iglesia en San Luis, began as a dream 14 years ago in Arizona - but thanks to the Lord who has blessed our work, this plant is now alive and thriving, bringing new families from Mexico into the congregation every year. Some Christians like to joke that you can estimate the health of a church body by how many children you see running around - and by that standard, the Church at San Luis is in remarkable health!

The King’s Kids ministry does not stand alone - it is only part of the overall solution. Apart from participating King’s Kids Monday through Friday, these children participate in Sunday School during services, the youth have Youth Group on Saturday nights, and most of them are with their families during Small Group gatherings each Wednesday. There are outreach events and service projects they join in, soccer league via Church Mexico, music classes, and other gatherings to make a Whole community and lifestyle for each of them in family environments that glorify God and point them to Jesus.

We are grateful to currently be caring for the hearts and souls of 29 young people from in and around San Luis through our King’s Kids ministry. This program has been richly rewarded with enthusiasm, passion and excitement from the children with remarkable progress made in many young lives. Lives that could easily have been headed in the wrong direction.

Fruits of Our Labor, Fruits of Your Support

Volunteers from La Iglesia en San Luis provide daily love and support to these children in a safe and healthy environment. Church Mexico has constructed classrooms over the years, and through generous support of many friends is now able to provide internet, printers, school supplies and several laptops to assist in homework activities. Most of the kids we work with don’t have internet at home, and almost none have laptops, which are required for homework starting in Elementary School.

Through Kingdom Kids Ministry, sponsored children receive spiritual nourishment and mentorship, helping them grow in their faith and develop a strong moral foundation. Build a personal relationship with your sponsored child, exchanging letters and photos, and witnessing firsthand the positive changes your support drives into their lives. Positive changes like we've seen in Ministry participants Alexia, Yael and Johan who graduated class of 2024 and will be the first in their respective families to attend college. These bright young souls are on track to meaningfully break a generations-long cycle of poverty for themselves as well as their families.

Alexia

We've shared many proud moments with our participants over the years. Alexia's is an especially inspiring story of the ministries impact on the local youth. Having gone from being an at-risk teen to being the first in her family to attend college, her outcome is a testament to The Lord's will, the hard work of the ministry and the result of your support. Read her incredible story here.

  • How is my support used?

Unlike the K-12 public school systems in the U.S, Mexico foots the schooling bill and its surrounding costs directly to famiiles even if they are below the poverty line. Families are required to cover tuition, books and even utility bills for their kid's learning facilities if they want them to obtain a standard education. This is one of the biggest drivers in Mexico's high K-12 drop-out rates throughout the country. With the country's poverty level where it is, many families find themselves forced to make difficult decisions between allowing their children a decent education or food in their bellies; food the children themselves have to help work for.

Your support goes directly to bridging this gap by covering the Mexican national average cost of tuition, utiliies and other required fees it's school system requires for one student's attendance in their respective grade level.
